Danielle LaPorte

Here’s a little bit about her:

Danielle LaPorte is the outspoken creator of WhiteHotTruth.com, which has been called “the best place on-line for kick-ass spirituality.” An inspirational speaker, she has been featured in Elle, Body + Soul, Vogue Australia, Better Homes & Gardens, Globe & Mail, The National Post, The Huffington Post, Entertainment Tonight, and numerous talk shows, and is a regular commentator on the national CBC TV show, Connect With Mark Kelley. She is the lead author of Style Statement: Live By Your Own Design, and recently launched a her own stationery line.

Danielle is the former director of a Washington-DC think tank where she managed a team of analysts to think big thoughts about future global trends. As a strategic and intuitive business advisor, Danielle works one-on-one with entrepreneurs who want to rock their career while making a difference in the world. From CEOs to start ups, social media stars to designers, her signature Fire Starter Sessions have been known to ignite new business models, new revenue streams, and…new definitions of success.

And here’s how she answered my 6 questions about creativity:

What inspires your creativity?

…a deep desire to find and create meaning. I’m hard-wired to be of service, and I think that I do that by bringing my creativity to the surface, keeping it as raw and transparent as possible, but being mindful to package it in ways so that it can be understood and felt. Really, I think of my self as a philosopher first and foremost and creativity is a vehicle for my big questions.

How do people respond to your creativity?
Well, I hear this a lot: “thanks for your brutal honesty, it’s so refreshing.”

What is the wildest journey your creativity has taken you on?
Being a creative entrepreneur is a wild journey in and of itself. Failure that leads to success. Success that leads to failure. Isolation, community. Daring. Details. I hope it gets wilder, actually. But wilder as in a bigger stage, deeper connections, and Morocco…and India…and the south of France.

Who loves you for your creativity?
My husband sure digs that my creativity brings home some bacon. And I have thousands of people who come to my site every month, so they must be somewhat jazzed with what I’m piecing together.

In which ways do you see yourself as Breaking New Ground?
I’m a modern chick and an ambitious creative-entrepreneur who talks about consciousness, cash flow, and compassion. I care just as much about pop culture as I do about chaos theory. And I intend to keep pushing the envelope in terms of truth telling, smart design and doing meaningful work.

What’s next for you?
Deeper peace. My next book, The Fire Starter Sessions. A hot bath.

Thanks Danielle! I look forward to more of your refreshing kick-ass-ness!
